CYYZ Shutdown Tonight?

Hi everyone,

just heard about a shut down at CYYZ tonight - can't find anything on the news, anyone hear anything about it?

Curious more than anything.

The weather took a nasty turn with fog and a low ceiling during the afternoon. RVR was as low as 900 feet. Aircraft were missing the approach to 24R and we ended up CAT3 approaches on 06L with a tailwind. Arrival spacing was 15 miles. Numerous diversions including ACA016 to YHM. Rapid improvement at around 7pm.

The airport was never "shut down" but there was probably a ground stop for flights into YYZ for some time.

Just another day...

We flew in around 4:00 p.m. Barely got in. Tomorrow's a new day.

It got quit for a while but when the weather is 100 ft and RVR 900 feet what do you expect. It was weird for about an hour there was no jet noise in my office felt like I wasn't at the airport. Loved hearing the noise and not being able to see the planes when it got moving.

haha ya i had a departure tonight... nice big fat delay due to wx...

strobe were on a little.. but if all cleared up nicely.. no "shut down"...
