Jazz FO take home pay is just over $1000 (after tax and deductions) biweekly. So hopefully it’s better than that.

How many GSs are supposed to be still planned for 2022?
If Jazz keeps their original schedule: Oct 31st, nov 21st, dec 12th and 20 pilots per GS, plus the people that are being put into the pool until then,
those candidates won't be offered a GS before 2023.

Not true at all chief pilot told us they are correctly staffed for now they don’t need more pilots. Guess he’s lyingmaverick12 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 2:39 pmThats to do with lack of training capacity, not a lack of pilots neededFlyingbeluga wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 7:23 am Seems like we have enough pilots for now. The GS on oct 11 got canceled.

Heard from multiple sources ground schools are far from being filled. Probably not in the chief pilots favour to promote how undesirable it is to work at their company.

Pretty much. Imagine making less in 2023 than a Jazz FO was making in 2013. Not even accounting for inflation.Topgun13 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 4:20 pm Why are people even looking at Jazz as a legitimate operation to join. Genuinely question the logic to come here. I’ve personally met 3 people from Perimeter who got hired at AC. Captains on the metro. Why bother coming to Jazz. Go up north get experience, apply to flair and then AC. Jazz is a dead end. You get better flight passes at Westjet or Flair. Fair bidding at Westjet unlike the sludge you truck through at Jazz.
By the time you build up enough seniority at Jazz you’ll be want to blow your brains out from years of harsh working conditions and eating Kraft dinner. Don’t forget to pack 3 days worth of food for your layover. Gotta save that per diem.
My favourite part is this on their recruitment website :
Daily tax-free meal per diems on average $9000* per annum.
See, they even give you TAX FREE money so that you can eat shitty food and drink your sorrow away on that layover. That’s almost like having a salary ! Such generosity.
In twenty years time when your kids ask how you got into flying you want to be able to say "work and determination" not "I just kept taking money from your grandparents for type ratings until someone was stupid enough to give me a job"

Re: How backed up is hiring???
Funny you should say that, I heard your first pay cheque at AC is around $800 take home. I'm sure you have no pre-diem yet, and lots of deductions to start with.canadian_aviator_4 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 9:06 pmJazz FO take home pay is just over $1000 (after tax and deductions) biweekly. Should we expect a reduction in class as well for Oct, Nov and Dec?
