Reference check
Hey guys,
Do they still do calls for reference checks or is it just an email they have to reply to? What do they ask in the reference check?

Re: Reference check
Either/or. This year hiring has ramped up to the point that they’re often just doing online references. I guess it means I can respond in my own time and the HR peeps don’t have to spend fifteen minutes on the phone when they can spend thirty seconds firing out an email with a generic link. I should sell that link to the highest bidder…maverick12 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 1:15 pm Do they still do calls for reference checks or is it just an email they have to reply to?
Anyways, there’s nothing outside a normal bunch of boilerplate HR hiring questions so I see no reason not to share.
Re: Reference check
Sometimes if there are anomalous things on a resume I may get a call from a pilot somewhere in management since they’re probably better equipped to assess the more unique people. This has helped keep a bunch of candidates from falling through the cracks over some unclear detail from their resume or interview.
Re: Reference check
what the hell, this is pretty intense. normaly its just confirming a candidate time at the company. damnlownslow wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 11:11 am There ya go. Same as what pretty well every other airline asks. Is this person reliable, trustworthy, personable, and not an idiot?

Re: Reference check
Thanks Lownslow, it appears the online ref check is only for past employers, I’m guessing they still call the current employer. Kudos to them for being so thorough with the questions thoughlownslow wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 11:11 am 6D6498B4-2942-4DFE-84B1-71B8C665E832.png

Re: Reference check
In my experience that’s pretty well what all the regionals are asking. Must be off some HR template somewhere. Credit to Jazz though for doing the reference checks themselves, unlike Encore and Porter who have traditionally farmed that out.
