flying? ... umm. YOW isn't a huge hotspot of activity, hence i moved away 4 years ago. FUGRO is based there, Sanders Geophysics as well, both Survey companies.. and both have just recently hired guys around the 1500-2500 hour mark. what's your time? do you have an instructor rating? aside from that, there is think (could be wrong) a wee charter company (possibly out of Carp (CYRP)) but i know they are fully staffed right now.
First Air does indeed have one base there, but they are mainly 737s and a few 727s remaining with ATR 42s up North. You need lots of time to get on there now, and according to my buddy (who has been there for years)they MAY be hiring soon... think you need time on type. (don't bother with their website, it still mentions the Beaver requirements from 7 years ago...) They do hire Cargo staff fairly regularly, but i emphasise, this is not "an IN" to the flying - anymore. Good Luck, you may want to consider Northwestern Ontario, depending on your hours. fly safe, WW

There is Celtic Tech Jet flying corporate charters and offering aircraft management. They have a King Air and a couple of jets (a falcon 90 I believe). Also Innotech-Execaire says they have a pilot base in Ottawa but I don't know anything more that that. Also Westair Aviation is in Ottawa flying Navajos and others. Try pilotcareercentre.com, that's where I got this info.

Like I said I only got my info from pilotcareercentre.com. Still had all the info for Celtic Tech and a link to their fully functional website.
