Opportunities in Canada

Post by Cat Driver »

"> Only in Canada. Do not apply for your old age pension. Apply to be a
refugee. It is interesting that the federal government provides a single
refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890.00 and each can get an additional
$580.00 in social assistance for a total of$2,470.00. This compares very
well to a single pensioner who, after contributing to the growth and
development of Canada for 40 or 50 years, can only receive a monthly maximum
of $1,012.00 in old age pension and Guaranteed Income
> Supplement. Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees! Let's send this
thought to as many Canadians as we can and maybe we can get the refugees cut
back to $1,012.00 and the pensioners up to $2,470.00 , so they can enjoy the
money they were forced to submit to the Canadian government for those 40
> to 50 years.

Let's hope the government isn't quite as short sighted. It's in our best interest to help refugees on their feet as soon as possible so they can start contributing to the tax pool that supports the pensioners.

With the baby boomers retiring at an alarming rate, we need as many productive people in the work force as possible.

Just what Canada needs! More refugees! It's not like it's hard enough for white males in this country to get jobs as it is! Bring in more minorities! Yah, that's the ticket! And by all means, let them bring all their religous weapons with them......afterall, they're only "symbols"....

Well lets not attack the refugees, its not their fault their land is screwed up.
Western Europeans dont come here anymore because they are not stupid and would never work to pay so much taxes. Thats why the government takes in people from third world countries, because those people are desperate, willing to work for peanuts and wont complain about the taxes. I dont mind helping out newcomers for a year or two so they can properly get settled in to do hard labour and pay every penny for taxes. I do have a problem with the fact that there are people perfectly capable of working and contributing to the MPs vacations, yachts and private jet flights, and yet they sit on their asses generation after generation and dont help us pay off the large debts.

I remember watching a video on how baby boomers could support the generation before retiring as there was 3-5 baby boomers supporting 1 retiree and how the next generation it will be 1 person supporting 3 retirees...scary thought!

It's also intersting to note that the amount quoted above is more than what a person who has maxxed out their EI contributions is entitled to in a month if they get laid off.

Please don't tell my mother that I work in the Oilpatch...she still thinks that I'm the piano player at a whorehouse.
