I never thought how vague that is till I just re-read it.
An inspector could say, "Hey, you pulled the power to do a practice forced approach. Why would you do that? Back off on a perfectly good engine? You could have had carb ice! THAT'S DANGEROUS! (CAR 602.01) Gimme your licence!"
Between you and Cat, I'm getting more and more paranoid every day! Oh well, c'est la merde!

I dont see a problem there, piece of ground smooth enough to land. Plenty big, the airplane needed power to reach the parking spot after the rollout, no telltale signs of excessive breaking.sky's the limit wrote:That's what we call Bush Flying, some of you may be familliar with the term...

Wow, it never ceases to amaze me that an aviation forum would think that normal Arctic operations would bring out so much comment.
Not only did we do it with Super Cubs such as in that video we landed off airport with Twin Otters and DC3's. It is just a normal work day.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
