"There will be a 220 base in YVR on the next bid" has been in the rumor mill since the covid restart. I'll believe it when I see it.

I've heard the rumor of the possibility of the 220 coming to YVR. This thread is the first time I'm hearing the rumor that it IS coming to YVR. Though it doesn't seem an unreasonable rumor, I agree with you, I'll believe it when I see it.

The A220 YVR base was supposed to be on the last bid but was cancelled last minute. With 60 fins and possibly 75, you can expect the base to open soon enough.

We have that many? I thought we only had 30?

Current a220 fleet size is 33 I believe. Many orders to come. So yes, YVR gonna happen…. Eventually. Whether or not in 2023, time will tell.

The plan was for the A220 to be in YVR for Spring 2023. Right from the mouth of MS to my PIT class. That said this was before Covid so who knows if that timeline is still accurate.

So long term, yes I imagine we will see the A220 out west. I imagine the Jazz staffing issues may have an effect on the timeline as well (sped up, potentially). It would be nice to at least have some visibility on potential dates, so pilots out west can plan their next bid. The CA positions are dropping into the mid 3000's in YVR now, and if they add an A220 base that may change what people will choose to upgrade on and when. I know it will effect how I decide to upgrade.

33 is correct. 60 orders plus 15 options. No fins this year except 133 which was supposed to be delivered in December but was delayed until January. Next year we start to take deliveries once again.

As for the sims, YYZ is tapped out due to the short sightedness of the previous VP of Flight Ops. YVR is the only logical place to expand. This has been approved.

Ahh gotcha, I had no idea we were ordering that many. Thanks!
