CargoJet

Post by Fly4Fun »

Looks like some Turbulent Air ahead at the "WestJet" of Cargo Airlines.
Some reduction in the pilot staffing is forecasted.........!
:? Hopefully all will be ok and not too many crews will be let go.
Hard Times for ALL in the aviation industry, including the Cargo side I guess.

Over the last 15 years, every company that has flown the freight carried by Cargojet has gone out of business. Sometimes a full airplane does not mean good revenue stream. What an industry.

whats your source??? is it due to getting a lil big a lil quick or did they lose some contracts. the financials indicate that things probably need to be tightened. best of luck to those involved.

I hope it's just a temporary thing. Maybe just some adjustments here and there. Good bunch of guys flying there. You can also add the fact that the Dayton run is gone and that has nothing to do with how well or not they are doing.
Good luck, guys

How often would Starjet fly a week? I would imagine with hockey and basketball virtually done in Canada that your planes would be sitting around a lot.

I remember UPS had a quick conversion mod for their 727's that they tried to market on weekends for charters - dont think it went over great. Maybe Hamilton to points south on weekends is a way to get the hrs up.

Starjet should do up a Blue Jays plane like AC did for the Raptors and America West did for the Cardinals and Suns. Thats the least they could do for the team that is gonna win the World Series this year :D Another fine performance today.

Hellooo bunch of wrenchturners, baggage smashers, and all associated to aviation....Let me set things strait, there are so much things you dont know about Starjet/Cargojet. Most of you make it sound like we're going on a nose dive, I'll make it a very positive comment, "WE AINT GOING DOWN, WE'RE JUST EXPERIENCING SOME TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES AND WARMING UP FOR A VERY POSITIVE BUSINESS YEAR!!!!!" And if you work for the company, and you really know what you are talking about, come pm me! Thank you very much!!

Dude, I'm wondering what starjet have to do with the blue jays winning/not winning the world series???? Starjet flies them wherever they play, jays pay, the employees/employer get their pay....and boys/girls keep their job!!!

and since you know a lot about the cardinals and suns, they are always on the playoffs, but when was the last time they won a championship, compared to the jays who won it in 92 & 93??

I aint serge, but if you give a positive attitude, it keeps the guys motivated at the workplace. The stronger the foundation is, the longer you keep your job, if you like your job, and good example is "Westjet"!!!

Okay, "Not Serge", but maybe you should pass your advice on keeping people motivated to your head office. Nothing kills morale quicker than telling people they might not have a job soon.

Oh my!! where did you get that informantion that us (if that includes you) might not have a job soon? if you have some good sources, let me know so i could pass my resume around. whatever i posted has nothing to do with killing people's motivation!! I'm just mad that some people, working or not working with the company seems to have too many info that are not even close to 50% true. Anyway, I'm just another wrenchturner making a living!!

Its kinda weird how back in September Cargodog was preaching to all that would listen that this airline was the be all and end all of cargo airlines. I was even at the end of some of his rants.

What has happened in only 8 months?????

Best of luck to those possibly affected - hopefully it all works out for you.

Sorry, stargojit, I guess you are not receiving the same information that others were given. Certain groups seem to be a more affected than others. Hopefully its temporary, for their sakes but as someone once said; "The day you stop looking for work in aviation is the day you are retired."

abc xyz; From what I heard, Cargodog is no longer with Cargojet. A shame since he really seemed to believe strongly about the Cargojet way. And I think you are not alone in wondering what happened in those 8 months.

Just out of interest the Cargojet stock is $7.75 down $.25 as of 1:20pm. Equal to a 52 week low. There was a lot of volume yesterday. Something is brewing. :?
