Hi, has anybody received an invite for training in fall 2023?
During the bootcamp at the end of January, we were told we would hear back in 2-4 weeks, but nothing yet.
Just curious on your timelines. Thanks

Which FIR?

They likely meant that you'll hear back about whether you passed the step. It's too early for fall 23 offers to go out. They send them 4-5 months before the start.

I recently transferred my application form Toronto to Edmonton, I was told that there is a VFR course starting in September and that the offer deadline was April. I am not sure if that means offers will be sent by April 1st or later in April but that is what I was told.

I'm in the YVR region and no invites have gone out from what I've seen. Everyone at the last stage had their application status change from Assessment to "In Review" a few weeks ago.
We were also told invites for fall would be going out earlier than usual because of the delay getting medicals.

I got my invite for November VFR

Did you get an invite yesterday? By email or phone? Also in YQM, so kinda have mixed feelings now that I haven't heard anything.

Offered FSS again. Declined again. Asked about other possible courses across Canada and questioned my eligibility (if until this point I was told I passed for all streams...why FSS twice?)
Congrats and good luck to everyone. I think my journey likely ended here until I can reapply I guess. Sucks to go through the process just to be offered the 1 course I can't accept.

You are “eligible” but likely in the sense that if no one else scored higher than you at the cut date, you would be offered IFR/VFR. As the company gets through their hiring spree, you’re still making the cut, but only enough for FSS.

It’s not unheard of for someone offered FSS, declined, and then offered IFR/VFR down the road. Not common, but not impossible either.

Anyone hear anything from YEG? Had my final interview early March and still waiting to hear back

That's actually comforting to know! I'd even take FIC tbh. Just can't risk going somewhere remote that FSS could potentially lead to. I'd love to take the course and see where I'd end up, but I'd be taking a spot away from someone else if I was posted north and had to decline it later down the road (due to family).

I'm definitely keeping my application open in the meantime. I work some fantastic aviation jobs anyway so at least I'm gaining relevant experience. Might consider moving my application to a different region as an option.

Grats, mind if I ask if you were offered IFR/VFR or FSS?

Still in the "eligible for offer" stage in the YVR area. Seems they have sent out some offers already. May have missed the cut this time around?

Did the group assessment early Feb.

Hey what FIR? did the say specifically that they would have made all offers by end of May? My bootcamp in mid Feb in YWG was not able to confirm when we would hear back for offers, just that it was typically four months before course, and that it may be a little earlier due to the TC Medical delays.
