Decoding YYZ Atis

Post by Skippy Bush Kangaroo »

Hello folks, long time reader first time poster.

Just looking at the ATIS from YYZ and I was wondering if anyone could tell me, with a reference if possible, what the "VA" stands for.

I have highlighted the area in blue on the attached picture.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Cheers

VA = Voice Advisory

Have a listen to the ATIS (about half way down the page): https://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=cyyz

It’s from the French third person singular conjugation of the verb aller, “il/elle va”, which is the verb “to go”. It translates to “GO ahead and skip the rest of the message, the useful information is over”!
