Power-tripping FA orders pregnant wife to clean up the floor after little kids spilled popcorn that the FA gave them.

I would have said uh, no. Arrest me!

https://globalnews.ca/news/9629956/blue ... -airlines/

Twitter not sympathetic. I like this one — by a Former FA — LOL.
“ A flight attendant is there for safety, not to pick up after you or your children.
As a former flight attendant, I speak from experience.”

You tell us! So your entire life as an FA you refused to serve drinks or meals, or remove trays?

Think there are some FA’s out there that couldn’t solo an airplane. My theory.

And clean up is in the price I paid. Don’t like it? Don’t become an FA. Cause safety is by far the most important thing you do but 90% its a service job.

I cannot stand self important attitude, entry level service staff.

Of course this is the same company that beat the sh— out of a doctor for resisting getting kicked off a plane because of their screw up.

Knew a guy who flew faith hill, Tim mcgraw, and the family. They had a good time, but the cabin needed a cleaning. He off loaded the family, brought in the bags, and went back to clean up the plane. Those of you who don't understand youtube"the way you love me by faith hill". He walked in to faith in her knees buns in the air cleaning up after her kids. After rolling his tongue in from the shock, he explained that it was his job to clean up. Ms Hill said 3rd party quote" no your job is to get us here safely, my job is to take care of what my kids do"

Mad Respect for her.

Companies need to have a little add on for "special customers" a simple cookie the next booking adding a small fee that shows for the booking to recoup work.caused by inconsiderate pax.

Inconsiderate pax? 2 year old kids? Know how ridiculous you sound?

Do you wipe the tables after you eat out at a restaurant? Do the laundry after staying at your layover hotel? Do the dishes?

Ever have an employee in those places tell you to clean up after your kids?

No. Because Cleanup is built into the price paid. If it isn’t in the airlines model, thats their problem. Don't make it mine. I don’t fly Spirit or Ryanair for that reason.

Charge more.I am thrilled to pay more for better service, anywhere.

As opposed to self important FA’s — that might have known this was a minor celebrity, and decided to take his wife “down a notch”?
Yeah, impossible.

I am POSITIVE you defended united airlines after those thugs beat the crap out of that doctor, too.

Yep, I stayed late, picked up every shell by hand!

Cleaning staff don't get everything cleaned. I been on plenty of flights as a pax and seen food, trash, and other shit in and around my seat. The blame for that is on the lil piggies who sat there previously.

Those of you who think you can be pigs onboard a plane because you're entitled slobs, reflects poorly on you. Clearly you're ok with the state of air travel that has disintegrated into, and shouldn't be shocked how you get treated in return, as the pigs you are. Have some respect for yourself and others. The world will be a bit a better place if you try and leave it as such.

Well, gee, maybe the cleaning staff should do the job they are paid to do.

Maybe they should ban 2 year olds from all flights? Or just yours?

Based on how often Rookie likes to talk about teenage girls, my money is on him being that creepy passenger FAs always complain about. You know that one the always taps them on their butts to get their attention and then plays dumb?

If it was the passenger’s responsibility to clean up after themselves, airlines wouldn’t have to hire cabin groomers. For every passenger that picks up all their trash and cross their seatbelt as they leave, you will have another one that leaves all their mess behind. If I worked in a service industry I would never lecture a customer for not cleaning up after their kids. If they happen to tidy up, great! If not, it’s not how I would leave it, but bite your lip and move on with your day. Kids leave messes on planes every day, this is not news.

First of all she was 22 weeks pregnant, at that point depending on the woman you probably can’t tell they are pregnant.

2nd of all if I’m in a restaurant and the kids make a mess I will do everything I can to clean up after them because although the servers do some cleaning they shouldn’t have to clean a huge mess up because I had kids vs the couple that doesn’t spill food everywhere.

3rd if you are in a hotel do you leave garbage everywhere? I hope not try to leave a neat organized room with garbage in the you know garbage.

Companies have contracted cleaning staff because some tidying is required and unfortunately some people are absolute slobs.

Just because we have people to clean litter out of ditches doesn’t mean you are entitled to throw your garbage out of the car into them.

Littering is illegal and you can be fined for it. A kid throwing popcorn around on a plane, theatre, restaurant is completely different.

I’m just surprised the FA actually said something. Just shows service is down the drain, people lack mutual respect. This is just the direction we are headed. Pretty soon they will placard the back of each seat with no drinking or eating signs and “please clean up after yourself” as if you are riding the TTC. Aviation is going the way of public transit, and FA’s job will be to primarily enforce rules rather than to provide service.

Bang on. I've had young children and I did my best to ensure my kids were taught not to be slobs. I didn't clean up completely but did tidy up on planes, restaurants, etc.

I fly lots of kids and parents. Yes kids make a mess- but you can definitely tell which ones have parents that are slobs.

Wow, this thread went sideways quick. Some airlines have groomers, some don’t. It’s in the contract. Deal with it. You signed on the dotted line.

All we have is the complaint from the entitled baseball player, how much do you want to bet there's FAR more to this story?

My money is that this family were being supreme DB's the entire flight, but unfortunately we'll never know.

Like Donald said, I suspect the FA might have something pertinent to add.

This is a very interesting topic.

The easiest conclusion is that the lady's partner has an interesting way of deciding priorities: more important to film everything than to clean up their mess himself. Even when allegedly forced to do so by the flight attendant.

But now to the interesting part.
How much mess can you create and can be expected to be cleaned up by service staff?

If FA should be expected to clean up popcorn spilled by a 2 year old, are they also supposed to clean it up if an adult spills? What if an adult intentionally throws popcorn on the floor? What if the whole airplane intentionally throws popcorn on the floor?

What if a passenger throws up due to air sickness. 'Not their fault, so the airline crew has to clean it up' you might say. But what if the passenger knows they get air sick, and was ill prepared?

What if I order the chicken for dinner and just smear it on the seat in front of me? If a 2 year old would do it by accident and the parents don't have to clean it up, why can't I do it intentionally? Especially if I paid more for my ticket than the 2 year old did for theirs. After all, on the aircraft everything revolves around money.

My first instinct would be that it's good that a company is drawing a line as to what is acceptable and what is not. I have never left a mess on an airplane or in a movie theater. I don't get why people can't do some basic cleaning up and dump their trash in trash cans. I have a feeling it's the same people that don't return shopping carts to the appropriate spot in the super market parking lot, or litter on a public bench in the park.

On the other hand, if you buy overpriced airline food, it's not too surprising people want to squeeze out the maximum value of what they bought. Or possibly take a bit of revenge by making a mess.

Interesting to see where this leads. I also have no doubt a major part of the story is missing.
