Move the airplane to a more popular location and suck up your travel time. There is not a great cadre of roaming freelance instructors with nothing already arranged to do with their time waiting to help you.

Yes, Photofly's advice may be your better path. If your inquiry results in a good outcome, that's great for you. But your outcome will be better if you and the airplane are where the action is. With your experience, you should not need many trips to the airport where its going on to complete your training and licensing.

And... As I say to many new pilots, try to be where aviation is happening, you'll meet more people, and learn more!

If you’re competent to fly solo, your new instructor can also brief you by phone to fly solo to their own airport for each lesson, so you can move the plane back home once they are comfortable with your level of skill. Make sure you both keep a written note of any such authorizations, of course.

That would suggest that the student has reached the solo XC stage in the training at which point they're ready for a PPL flight test. They likely already have a RPP, so it's a bit moot. (I encourage students to get the RPP flight test done before starting their XC training so most of them have an RPP prior to the dual XC and instrument portion of the training.)

Likely is a bit strong - but that's another option too.

My point is that it doesn't have to be based at a far away airport for the entirety of the rest of the training.
