Employers giving up

Post by -42 »

Have employers that used to advertise on here basically every month which would be the time frame a person would get hired, on-boarded realize what a gong show the place was and quit just given up and gone to contractor companies? At least it used to be amusing perishing the ads once in a while but now all you see is the same few contractor companies using the same tactics of bum pay and substandard benefits. Must be a real bloodbath out there for the old HR department. Fun fun fun.

It's up to $58 for "The Wells" I'm getting $50 right now and home in my own bed so why would I go to a remote place like Norman Wells for a few dollars more. Though it would be interesting to work on a Porter again.

I know it’s weird right? I have been out for a few years now and think about the good times and great people I met along the way. I never think about the great employers or awesome management other than how totally out of touch they were. It seems things and people do t change with the times in many ways which is unfortunate for the company as it causes many ripple effects. Terrible retention and recruitment seems to be a problem that just can’t go away. How about cleaning house from the top down and hiring some really good people who know the ins and outs of actually twisting a wrench? That would solve a lot of problems imop. Oh well seems like the industry is happy just insanely moving I. The same direction as twenty years ago.

Just looked at that Tronojet ad. What the hell are they thinking? Is there really anyone qualified that would work for that wage in Canada in 2023? This isn’t Bangladesh in the 60’s. WTF?

17-20? How is eating even possible for that wage? Do they all live in their parents basements with 2 of their buddies? I guess its share a 1 bedroom, get a low income free bus pass and go to the food bank. Show some pride for gods sakes and refuse to work for bum wages.

No, because they have to relocate! We all know this job involves travelling! How come we are incurring so much expenses purely related to this job and then getting paid this sum? Let's say you suck up to this pay to climb up to $45/hr, we still have to shoulder a lot of expenses associated with this profession, so at the end of the day you end up making less! This is one of the worst and backward job you can possibly get into! Let me remind you that none of your experience here and none of the experience you'll gain are transferable to other trades and every qualification that you have or will get are licensed and exclusive to Aviation! We don't make enough money in Aviation! And talk about the terrible working environment and workplace culture! Seriously, can you people in the hangar work with less of the politics?

Everything regarding this job is bull sh*t! It's not just the pay! This is exactly why I left taking nothing with me! I'm one of the many that have resigned! Look at the ramp/bagroom, how many people with the physique get into that and then quit? There are just better opportunities available with less demanding work and liabilities outside of Aviation, so if you are a sane person, you know what to f*cking do!

If you are making this much, half of your salary will go to your car bills! What is left? You see why I'm complaining?

This is one of the few industries out there that really only needs to make enough to stay in the black (or just out of of the red) indefinitely. There is no money in aviation as a full time employee AME, never has been never will be. Anyone thinking these employers are out to lunch need to look at the bigger picture. There will always be someone willing to work for what little is offered.

every day, Heavy Aero adds 5 ads for jobs. Absolutely ridiculous. These multiple spamming companies should be banned. Clearly there is a reason why nobody wants to work there.
