Don't know if this is true or not, but I also heard that the pax evacuated, and did so themselves out the door with the engine still running. Like I said, only rumor.

On the Metro II there is no V1. So VR would be your committed speed.
It can't be true. It must be a lie. Surely everyone is dead. A PC12 pilot once told me that, "engine failures were more dangerous in twins than in PC12s. Everyone will be dead if an engine fails during takeoff in a twin. Especially in a BE10 or a Metro II. Whereas, in a single..."
Even if everyone IS alive, surely they're thinking, "if only we'd have been in a single engine airplane and had the engine failure. We'd be so much better off right now because we would have had 1 million "G" seats for the crash..."

Amongst the engine failure/emergency, I am sure they managed to sqweak out a useless radio call, telling us they how far north of Winnipeg they are!
On a serious note, nobody hurt= job well done.
