Just wondering, who here would give themselves a call sign, and if they did would it be "Captain Chaos"?

First of all nicknames/call signs are not self-assigned. How do you think you ended up with "conehead", you idiot?

For etymology, see the Cannonball Run. Was probably before you were born. Never mind.

P.S. We have 4 identical Pitts S-2B's, all of which get flown by different people at different times, each airplane with different stuff written on the sides, which is probably too complicated for your limited intellect to comprehend

If this is a serious, where do you get a callsign, question, I think you can apply thru NC for it. Areonatical Information Services, I think? Numbers should be in the CFS or AIP? If it's not a serious question, I think I will start calling myself "Goddess of Mysteryville" instead of "Mysteryville Radio". :smt040

If I was going to assign myself a callsign ...

I am told ATC gets their panties in a bunch when I call myself "Twin Cessna" when I fly the 421, despite the fact that I'm IFR and they have that information in front of them. They really want me to use Cessna's marketing name: "Golden Eagle" which I find a tad pretentious.

So, I was thinking about calling myself "Golden Shower". I quite like the symbolism, of myself urinating upon the countryside from a great height.

Another callsign I have seen before and liked:

Lieutenant Oliver Closeoff (say it out loud a couple times). Probably too subtle.

I think it's in the (formerly) unwritten man code that should anyman asign himself a nickname he shall automatically be dubbed "rimjob" or "wetdream," by his friends an co-workers.

I used to be known as 'pogo stick' when I flew the C-185 on wheels.

Ferried a Beaver back home one day from an out base and the company agent threw on four or five pax and gave me a flight number, Wings 3905. I was impressed! :D

i certainly wouldn't call my self Cap. Chaos. Probably would use something like 'Maniac' or 'Looney'. I know the RAF at linton-on-ouse often give formations name of Obi, making Obi One, Obi Tow etc.

I move that we now officially refer to desksy as WetRim!

I know of someone on this board who we refer to as captain awesome. mostly for his ability to wreak havoc anywhere we go for drinks
