Hi folks,

Been applying to every entry level pilot jobs, no response for about a month. However I notice some airlines with ground to flight programs posting separate job ads for ramp or other ground positions. What is up with those? They can't hire an entry level pilot for those roles and put them on the ground to flight program? Or am I missing something here?

Cheers,

Cheers,
No, generally they use the entry level pilot job to lure you in and make you work for minimum wage in jobs that most people wouldn't want to do for minimum wage.

Others claim they want to 'get to know you' or 'judge your character' before putting you in an airplane as a low time pilot.

And that's why those ground positions are filled with entry level pilots, right? And they have such a high volume of resumes from new entry level pilots, I don't even understand why they have to post separate job ads for these positions at all

I would definitely accept a ramp position at jazz, Porter or westjet for a few months to prove my ability to be successful in training and line flying duties. Even with level D sim king air experience I haven’t been successful applicant.

The recruitment process in this industry is the worst and needs a revamping. To pass up a candidate with level D King Air sim experience is why we are where we are with the pilot shortage.
