Hey,
Can anyone provide the answer to taking pat leave, is it accommodated at any part during the training?
To clarify we are NOT expecting or planning to but am preparing for all possibilities.
Does anyone have a copy of the new agreement? Has it been posted anywhere?
We were informed of the pay increase and an extra stipend during training for relocation. Looking to get more details on that if anyone has that info.

It's probably accommodated but it's also probably not a good idea. As a new trainee, you don't have the experience to come back and know how to do the job. You will fall behind so fast that whatever progress you've made in training will likely be lost.
This won't be the last time you'll hear this, but don't get married, don't have a kid, and don't do a big move during training. They're three very stressful things that will take up the brain space you need to learn.
The agreement has not been published yet.

I had a kid a month in to generic IFR and I checked out 3 months ago in an enroute specialty. Definitely not ideal but here we are lol. Id say further along in OJT would be the easiest time to take any kind of extended leave, but at that point in training, just get qualified then take your leave.
The CATCA website will have the agreement when published. Not much has changed other than pay and TOIL so the current online will give a good ballpark for what to expect. Also you don’t join the union until specialty training. So about 6 months after you start generic IFR. I’m not sure but I imagine VFR you don’t join the union until OJT/tower placement. About 6 months after starting VFR basic.
