Kidney Stone Surgery

Post by CRJ900 »

Hello All,

I have completed my CAT 1 examination at CAME in October, I got a letter from TC stating due to history of kidney stones, consult an urologist and eliminate no kidney stones are present at the moment. I did a CT scan and found out I do have kidney stones, I went through the surgery to remove it. What should be the next steps ?

Thanks.

They will want proof it/they are gone with an imaging report. In some cases they will want an ultrasound report AND an xray report. The doctors say this MAY (keyword MAY) suffice. In all likelihood they will ask you for a CT report and possibly a metabolic workup (urinalysis). If it's not too late, get them to analyze the stone and see what it's made of (oxalates, calcium, struvite, etc). They may ask for a summary by your doctor on your kidney related health. For this, you will have to get immediately on defense, and realize that "The minister can make use of any information submitted". Meaning if they want to be a dick, they can start picking apart your past. So you will have to submit this information because you are legally bound. However, one thing to take into consideration is the use of extraneous information. Sometimes a doctor can say things like "history of x". This is where you get your doctor to rewrite things. Your past is not on trial, but the more information they have, you don't know how they can use it against you until it's too late. Your current status is what they want to know. So give them that. Don't give them the past, or the future. Just the present. The only thing about the future they CAN mention, is something like "follow up appointment to be scheduled in 1 year time for CT scan" as that will meet their criteria for a "management plan" if they ask you to provide one.

That being said give them what they ask for. But do not give them more.
