Pay and Inflation

Post by The Mole »

Digging through some old files i stumbled upon the pay scale from 2007 for a defunct Quebec company, they also worked in western Canada and the US.

Day Rate contract $200-$275 $67 intermediates, $90 Mediums, 4hrs per day averaged mins summer / 3hrs winter
Salary $2275-$3775 same flight pay.
Bush pay $40 per day for Camps, Hotels. Double the Bush pay for tours longer than 30 days. $45 food per diums. Bonuses. $2-10hr flight pay at year end, based on years of service.

Adjust for inflations 2024 a top intermediate pilot doing seismic/drills would be $780 per day guaranteed. Medium $912.

This was high flying company and it wasn't uncommon to fly 7-800 or more a year doing seismic. Timing out would happen a few times a year.

Negotiate hard and never split the difference.

That’s likely ABITIBI I’m guessing.

“ Adjust for inflations 2024 a top intermediate pilot doing seismic/drills would be $780 per day guaranteed. Medium $912.”. We’re charging far higher than these numbers in Canada, by roughly 35-40%. That’s not including per diem and stipends.
