Afternoon folks
Would someone have a list of the places we can land a floatplane
In Alberta and get fuel?
Say between high level and Rocky Mountain house
Cheers

As far as I know there aren’t any. Closest you’ll get is to land in the lake by the airport in High Level and have the FBO fuel truck come down to the wharf if it’s still there. I ferried a plane to Yellowknife 15-20 years ago and that was the procedure at that time.
I don’t think you’ll find anything else unless someone has a private setup that will give you fuel. Not sure if Cooking Lake has enough water on top of their mud to land there. Last time I checked, the last plane took 6 hours to make it to the dock. That was a few years ago too.
Is this MS?

I landed at High Level in June of 2023 with my Cessna 180 on floats. I had been there about 10 years ago when there was a dock and the fuel truck would come from the airport. The dock was burned up several years ago and the fuel truck will no longer come from the airport. But if you call ahead to the FBO some guy will bring you gas in Jerry cans. It helps if you have your own cans as well. The guy made 2 trips to fill me up. The shoreline where the old dock used to be is filled with sharp rubble and it is difficult to find a spot to heel up. Don’t fall off the float like I did up to my neck in swamp water and who knows what else.Swampdonk wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 7:13 am As far as I know there aren’t any. It’s not considered a complete season unless you fall off the floats a couple of times.
