The 6 taking the 737 in this class decide if they want YYZ or YUL. Could be all YYZ or all YUL, or any combination.

Will it be expected moving forward not to see WB FO's available often on initial anymore?
Luck of the draw I guess depending on the month you get hired? A guy with 5k heavy time hired this month is on a 73 while someone with 2000tt off a Q could get 777 the next month?

WB FO (apart from 767) hasn't been offered in initial since 2023. Whether it's offered again will depend a lot on the next equipment bid and how everything shakes out under the new contract. I expect there will be lots of movement, so the following bid will be the real tell. And yes, it's purely luck of the draw.

Just wondering te average size of each pitt class and if anyone could post some more fleet offerings.
I assume Toronto is the easiest to commute to from yvr? I have asked this a lot with many different answers but what is the fastest way [ aircraft ] to get back to yvr? Any real insite would be appreciated.

As per the latest equipment bid- the generalized offers will be mostly 320 mainline, 737 and Rouge. That doesn't mean there isn't the sprinkle of 767, 330RP etc just that's what they have by far as the greatest vacancies. Dec 3 will be the latest equipment bid to shed light on what they are looking at going forward.

If you live in YVR you can bid into any aircraft that you can hold and they have to train you after a certain period of time. It's nice because if you get 330RP or 787RP and they happen to be quite senior in YVR but you can hold 737 you can slide over. The downside is it can take a while until you get trained, and currently all spots in YVR are full with a large backlog of YYZ pilots trying to get back to Vancouver.

Thanks for that, still very confusing for me. I have an interview next week and I guess I'm getting a little ahead of myself. Any idea what is the most sought after least sought after are? I'm most interested in the 737 however, I really have no idea and just want back to yvr fastest.
What is the process? pitt class 2 weeeks? Then you draw your base and aircraft and I assume they send you home to do cbt's and wait for a training class?

You do 3 or 5 days of online training before the 2 week PIT course (it's been years excuse my memory). During it you draw and find out where you are going. If you have a 737 type rating chances are you will be forced 737. Depending on where you drew you get your training start date assigned, and a few days prior to do those CBT before the in person training starts.

Generally 737 was the fastest but with the Union saying Rouge is going to 737 it's hard to tell if that's the best going forward. YVR is the largest 737 base and it's quite possible they remain the same or shrink a little with the Rouge transition. RP is a very cushy out of YVR because of all the decent flying on it. As a general everything is senior out of YVR compared to YYZ for example I am 1000 numbers junior and hold the same relative position on the local seniority list as my YVR equivalent. In your case you have no idea what plane you have been given so the fastest way to get to YVR depends really on luck of the draw. A simple transition over will be a lot faster than a position not offered in YVR like 767

April. Probably a mostly flat bid. I expect some reductions. Depending on how they want to do the 220 in YVR there may be a closed base, moving more 737 positions out and 220 positions in.

I'm assuming the 787 spots are RP not FO? There's no way they're offering WB FO spots in pit.

They are offering some FO widebody spot on PIT yes...

Thing to consider, you'll be the bottoms guy for 2-3 years

Seems strange that they are offering 787 fo spots.. what’s the reasoning behind that as im sure those would get snapped up in a bid

Nobody wants them. You'll spend years as the bottom guy while everyone parachutes in above you for the jammy flying and schedule.

Not 787 or 777.

The last equipment bid had people being force reduced. Junior YVR/YYZ 787 FO are 1000 seniority numbers ahead of someone being hired today. That seat will not go to a new hire at this time.

Should be another bid next month so we will see...

Maybe 767 FO. But there's no way 787 FO. And I expect we will see 767 reduced next month.
