You have to be a graduate of a CF recognized College Aviation Program in order to be considered for CEOTP (Continuing Education Officer Training Plan). Not sure all the schools that are recognized but I know the Aviation Flight Management Program at Condederation College is one of them and I believe Sault Ste. Marie is as well.
You will enter the CF as an Officer Cadet (assuming you pass all the prior requirements for a pilot position) and will be allowed to progress through all the training to Wings and flying assignments beyond, but you must agree to complete a University Degree prior to finishing your first 7 year commitment. Basically you will have approx. 9 to 10 years to complete it and you cannot advance beyond to rank of Captain without your degree.
Hope this helps!

NOT TRUE!!!
That was the old CCEP (Community College Entry Plan [pilot]).
CEOTP is basically desigened to get people into the training pipeline and the degree comes later.
You more or less have to demonstrate that you can get into a University and pass. My highschool marks sucked ass, college were above average, university even better. So don't worry if highschool marks are shit, cause as long as you can prove you're capable of doing well, you'll be fine. You don't have to have any flight experience, technically.
If you don't have a diploma or haven't started a degree, you're probably better off going ROTP.
CEOTP is basically a way for the forces to meet recruitment targets when the regular plans (ROTP and DEO) aren't filling all the slots. The contracts (from what I gather) are unique and tailored to each applicant. You're best to talk to a recruiter and ask which entry plan is best for your situation.
PM me if you have any other questions, I'm going through the process right now. Like I always say in these type of threads, APPLY NOW! It can take forever.

Its a great way to get through the "back door". You technically don't need any college so you can literally be 18 years old right out of high school. One of my buddies will have his wings before he turns 21.
From what I understand you don't even need to complete a degree within those 7 years after wings but simply just need to make "progress" towards one. In addition any courses you take towards a degree should be covered by the CF.

Re: CF COETP PROGRAM
I got in with crap marks in high school (by crap I mean during my senior years, 50-70%) but I had a 92% average in College. I had my first year of university taken care of through part time studies with a B average. I was just learning circuits when I applied. Don't worry about your time, even if you have a CPL or whatever, you'll be starting from scratch once you get in unless you went to a recognized aviation program through college like Sault or Confederation then you can bypass some of the flight training. (Of course it does show your dedication towards becoming a pilot, it isn't required. It will certainly help once you hit your flight training though! Some commercial pilots don't get by aircrew while guys with zero time get by) I had a lot of other things that made me more attractive as an Officer though which you might as well.Dusty 3 wrote:If anybody knows anything about this program, can you PM me please.

Think of it this way, if your marks allow you to be accepted to University tomorrow; go for it. When I say accepted, not as a Mature student either. The only way, or at least so I was told, that will work is if you already have some University courses under your belt.
Good luck. Apply and see where the process takes you. My #1 peice of advice, believe half of what you hear and all of what you see. I spent to much time researching and heard a lot of hogwash. PM me too if ya have any questions...
