Hi,
I had an interview with medical 1st week of November,2024 and been waiting for 10 weeks. I haven’t heard anything yet since then. Does anyone have an idea what’s going on there?
Cheers.

Re: Interview result
Sucks sounds like you arnt going to the nhl of airlines.
(Jk they say up to 12 weeks. Likely most of the groundschools are full so they notify you once a gs is available)

Re: Interview result
Yeah, I just want to know the result but they are very quiet. No e-mail, No call, No reference or background check since then. Almost reaching 12 weeks. Thanks.702pipeliner wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 1:33 pm Sucks sounds like you arnt going to the nhl of airlines.

No news is good news. Takes time. Most jazz guys waited 3 months to 8 monthsgsong wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 1:41 pmYeah, I just want to know the result but they are very quiet. Re: Interview result
Honestly I just heard some people interviewed in October getting callbacks a few weeks ago. Not sure that's the standard but Christmas did just happen as well. As long as you didn't get a PFO your probably still good.
Re: Interview result
Yep. I interviewed in October and just got a call for a March GS. Like you said, could have to do with the Christmas break and the recent bids that were posted so the hiring rate is slowed down I suppose. Like they say, no news is good news!
Re: Interview result
I had the interview in January and I am still waiting for the results. I’m curious, if Air Canada decides not to move forward with my application, will they inform me formally ?

Re: Interview result
Has anybody got called for the upcoming ground school? if so what was the time frame for call back since interview?
just would like to know how accurate is 8-12 weeks for a call back.
Thank you!

Re: Interview result
I interviewed in January, and by the end of February, some pilots who interviewed alongside me had already received calls. Their ground school is scheduled to begin in April.
As for me, after completing my interview and medical exam, HR requested me to obtain a U.S. crew visa. I got my U.S. visa by early March and promptly submitted it to Air Canada. Since then, I have been waiting for further information .While it is possible that my application was declined
Re: Interview result
Here’s the thing no news is good news. How long you wait is determined by how competitive your CV is. If you have just the mins you’ll wait longer than someone who has experience as an Emirates 777 Captain who wants to return to Canada.
Welcome to Redneck Airlines. We might not get you there but we'll get you close!

Re: Interview result
If your application isn't as competitive, as more people interview they will be chosen ahead of you, essentially parachuting in on top of your application. Yours might not be looked at for quite some time. My advice is to make the most of where you're flying now, and don't put your life on hold for AC.Zhangxs wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 7:44 amI interviewed in January, and by the end of February, some pilots who interviewed alongside me had already received calls. Thank you so much for your advice, I appreciate it. This year, nearly all the airlines have slowed down the pace of recruitment, we have to be patient.

Re: Interview result
Be patient. No news is good news. A friend of mine who was interviewed in the summer of 2024 was told to come back for a second interview which didn't happen for a while (close to winter) after the first. But eventually, it did and he got the job. So everyone who is waiting can take a breath because you're still in the game unless you specifically hear otherwise. A phone call is good, an email usually is not.

Re: Interview result
Any idea what was the call back time after second interview.? did they have to go through medical and all the stuff again?

Advance transborder bookings are down 70% YOY, but advance capacity is down just 3.5%. That is not financially sustainable.Flyboy736 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 3:54 pmHate to be a Debby Downer but checked roommate's training report and it looks like PIT 9 disappeared and PIT 10 says "Potential CX"Zhangxs wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 4:10 pmPostmasterGeneral wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 11:34 am

The Commercial departments at every carrier affected are placing bets and making capacity decisions on where this whole tariff dustup is headed. One can only assume that a ‘return to normal’ is not in the cards.
Accordingly, hiring rates may be affected.

2 pit cancelled but april's pit are a GO. You saved me from typing a rebuttal.... the propaganda machine is strong in Canada. Ridiculous that a 70% drop is accepted as fact. I just did a search on common city pairs into the US and they look like pretty normal April loads to me.QKZXKV wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:22 amWe need to cut the crap... it's election season folksrudder wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 7:24 amAdvance transborder bookings are down 70% YOY, but advance capacity is down just 3.5%. Even Air Canada is reported in Bloomberg today saying transborder is down 10% - a far cry from 70%

While I think 70% is an overestimation, I do believe that Bloomberg is under reporting at 10%.yycflyguy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:57 amYou saved me from typing a rebuttal.... the propaganda machine is strong in Canada. I think we all need to be careful where we are getting our news in general. Avcanada is definitely the place to make our decisions.
