Negotiating committee quits
Anybody know why two of the members just up and quit after talking to the MEC?

Re: Negotiating committee quits
Members of the MEC trying to push their own personal agenda for the next round of negots. An agenda that isn’t supported by the membership.

My understanding is that the resignations had much more to do with treatment from an LEC rep that was unprofessional, as opposed to a particular issue being discussed. While union work can be tiring and sometimes emotional, it should be possible to disagree while remaining professional and not stooping to personal insults of volunteers, especially when you consider the time and energy the Negots Committee volunteers have put in over the last few years.

Does any of the original negotiators remain, typically you want some continuity of that position for future negotiations?JBI wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 11:26 am My understanding is that the resignations had much more to do with treatment from an LEC rep that was unprofessional, as opposed to a particular issue being discussed. The fact alpa operates behind some imaginary wall of secrecy is one of their biggest short comings. There is no reason these NC members couldn’t bring their issues to the pilot group. I’d much rather recall a rep than lose members of our nc (who were involved the last round and are a tremendous asset to us).
If these committee members want what is best for this group, I encourage them to speak up so we all know what is going on. You didn’t sign a nda with your resignation letter.
