Canadian ALPA pilots
Now that ALPA represents a majority of Canadian pilots, maybe it’s time we go our own way as a group of Canadian pilots and split from the American union.
Looking at my T4 I can’t help but wonder why we are sending our hard earned money to pay support staff in the US.
IFALPA recognizes one national pilots union from each country and if you look at their list of members, this seems to be the norm.
Why are we represented by a union based in a different country? A country with very different rules, laws, and issues. We will never be their priority.
Food for thought.

Re: Canadian ALPA pilots
There is far more money heading north of the border than there is heading south. We are being subsidized by American ALPA.lostaviator wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 5:01 pm Now that ALPA represents a majority of Canadian pilots, maybe it’s time we go our own way as a group of Canadian pilots and split from the American union.

How would you spoil up the accident investigation side ?
Re: Canadian ALPA pilots
At IFALPA, both Canada and the US send separate delegations to conference (and have a separate vote) and committees. The IFALPA Committee I'm a part of has myself from ALPA Canada and another member from ALPA-I (USA) and this is the case for a number of the other committees.lostaviator wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 5:01 pm Now that ALPA represents a majority of Canadian pilots, maybe it’s time we go our own way as a group of Canadian pilots and split from the American union.
