What's going on in the Vancouver area these days?

I'm a flight instructor with 1300TT and 300multi pic looking to move on the flight instruction industry.

Wondering if anybody knows of any companies out there that I might have a chance with. Also wondering what I could expect as far as pay and scheds go?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

im not quite sure but i think you meant move on as in enter the flight instructing industry again? please correct me if i am wrong. I know that my flight school "montair aviation" is currently hiring instructors. As a student there, i know that their instructors are wonderful, and it teaches them how to be professional and rather polite which are i guess important traits represented by an airline pilot down the road.

You should pop by and ask them about the flight instructing course. As of pay, they got based on a company scale, if you want more information i can perhaps introduce you to the guys and you can go on from there?

Search around in their website as well and get a feel of what and how they're like.

You're looking at the wrong time my friend. Pacific Coastal hires a bunch in the spring and layes off in the fall. I'm under the impression most laid off will stick around, try to catch some casual shifts and wait for the following spring. I think the majority of YVR operations are much busier in the summer with fishing and outfitter charters. That being said, check out Pilot Career Center's Website and make some calls. You never know.

ya what go guns said......i know that pacific coastal does like instructors so try there.....most likely in the spring though.

Coastal Pacific may be looking for instructors in Abbotsford....if you are interested in that.

yeah my bad
I missed a couple of words in my last post.
I am currently working as a flight instructor and wondering what else is out there other than flight instruction.
I was looking at orca airways and canadian air charters on avcanada and pilotcareercenter but from the looks of it you need to already have a ppc on a ho.
anyone know otherwise

Go buy one out there and then start working for dimes a day. Tons of great guys have done it and really gone far with super operators. If you're already flatbroke, a couple thousand more won't hurt the LOC!

You may not (at least from what one of their employees mentioned here earlier ) need a PPC for CAC. But, as EI Ei alluded to, if you intend to remain in the 703 world in YVR, at least on wheels, you won't have to change your Forum name.

I might suggest YYC.

Orca and CAC should be hiring, there has been some movement. Don't think anyone has been hired at Orca without a PPC, most have bought their PPC else where at some point. Not 100% sure on CAC. Pay isn't great at either though. Good luck.
