Jazz accommodations

Post by dustyroads »

What type of accommodations and how long does Jazz provide them for new hires? Anyone care to share how they’ve dealt with not knowing which base assigned until day 2 of ground school and how moving family and getting the kids transferred from school to school with least amount of interruption.

All of the training is in Toronto so you will probably be at the yyz hotel until your sim training is complete, and then you will be responsible for being at your assigned base when you start line training. I don't know the exact contract language. I'm assuming you are not living in Toronto now?

I was single and renting when I started so no big deal to move. Ultimately the company does not care about your time. They are still managing employees as if high turnover is part of their plan.

Or you start commuting. Which can be terrible or ok-ish depending where you live and what you get. But nothing beats living within 2hr driving.

Thanks for the info! Do you know roughly how long the sim training usually takes before we’re expected to report to our assigned base?
