Smart Aviation Maintenance Solutions Inc. is a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization that provides technical services to support all aspects of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul. We are currently seeking an skilled Avionics Apprentice to join our team. This full-time position is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about aviation and eager to learn the intricacies of aircraft maintenance under the guidance of experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inspection, testing, repair, and installation of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
• Support troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks on aircraft systems and components.
• Gain knowledge of safety and compliance regulations
• Follow instructions and procedures from mentors.
• Keep clean and organized work areas.
• Learn to document maintenance and repair work.
• Report on issues affecting the serviceability of aircraft.
• Perform functional tests and adjustments on aircraft systems.
• Participate in engine and APU.
• Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with Company and Transport Canada regulations.
• Perform duties in accordance with our established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, the safety of co-workers.
• Carry out modifications according to service bulletins while respecting industry standards.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures while working in the SHOP and at the YYZ site
• Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
• Perform all other related tasks.

Requirements:

• Enrolled in or a graduate of an approved avionics maintenance program.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft systems, electronics, and maintenance practices
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• You are flexible with respect to work shifts.
• Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
• Basic understanding of tools and their proper use
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
• Prior mechanical experience preferred but not necessary.
• Legally able to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or on a Work Permit)
