About Airborne Petawawa
Airborne Petawawa is a busy, skydiving center based out of CYTA. We operate a Cessna 182 and are hiring jump pilots for the 2026 summer season (1 May - 31 Oct). This role is well suited for pilots looking to build meaningful flight time quickly, while gaining real world commercial experience in a fast paced operational environment.
About the Position
You can expect multiple flights per day, frequent weight and balance changes, and continuous short cycle operations. Pilots operate as part of a small, professional team where efficiency, communication, and accountability matter.
Our most recent new hire flew approximately 150 flight hours in their first three months.
This position is offered on an independent contractor basis.
This job is a great fit if:
You are building flight time and want to fly frequently.
You are comfortable flying multiple lifts per day.
You can manage frequent weight and balance changes.
You can manage flying in changing weather conditions and cross wind landings.
You are a hard worker and comfortable in a physically active role.
You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
You are reliable, adaptable, and safety-focused.
You are comfortable assisting with routine operational tasks, including aircraft fueling when required, particularly outside normal airport service hours.
This job may not be a good fit if:
You prefer slow-paced or highly structured environments.
You struggle with direct feedback or performance coaching.
You are uncomfortable in high-tempo operations.
You expect a cockpit only role.
You become overwhelmed or defensive when things get busy.
Prerequisites
Applicants must meet one of the following:
A minimum of 50 hours PIC on C-182.
OR
In lieu of previous C-182 experience, applicants who have completed the Para Pilot Course with Skydive Toronto Inc. will be considered.
Airborne Petawawa does not sponsor, fund, or endorse this course. Completion of the course does not guarantee employment or engagement.
Compensation:
Compensation is $20 per lift.
A daily minimum compensation of $100 applies on days the contractor is scheduled and available for operations.
After the first five lifts, an additional $20 per lift is earned.
Flying time, number of lifts, and total hours flown will vary based on weather, aircraft serviceability, and operational demand and are not guaranteed.
Application Process
All applicants must complete the Airborne Petawawa Recruitment Questionnaire. Applicants may either download the document and complete it, or paste the questionnaire into the body of their email and provide full responses.
The completed questionnaire must be submitted along with a resume and all required supporting documents referenced in the questionnaire.
Failure to follow application instructions, submit the completed questionnaire, or include required information or documents may result in the application not being considered.
