Re: Pasco Powell River
I'm going to venture a guess and say it left the paved surface and went for a little "excursion".
Re: Pasco Powell River
Didn’t have any info except there was an excursion. Was just wondering if anyone knew how it came about

Re: Pasco Powell River
Unstable approach, tail wind ,down slope . Apparently right hand brake locked up with anti lock brakes ........... no one hurt all that really matters .
Re: Pasco Powell River
Right no one was hurt, bending a perfectly good airplane because of bad PDM is fine, as long as everyone is okay afterwards. Its What I do wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 9:19 am Unstable approach, tail wind ,down slope . Take my love
Take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care
I'm still free
You cannot take the sky from me

Re: Pasco Powell River
Usually you accept the tailwind to land uphill in Powell River, not downhill... Why not take the uphill, in wind runway? Something not adding up there...

I never flew the SAAB, but I never found Powell River to be a particularly challenging airport. In my experience you tended to land downhill because there was often a fresh sea breeze.

Taking a tailwind for 27 is an interesting move though… no sea breeze if it’s an easterly!‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 10:10 am“Perfectly good airplane.”Lurch wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 11:19 amRight no one was hurt, bending a perfectly good airplane because of bad PDM is fine, as long as everyone is okay afterwards. Its What I do wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 9:19 am Unstable approach, tail wind ,down slope .
