Seriously wondering how (and who) built out this new 'gift' and made it POTUS-worthy, considering the two 'real" VC-25s are way behind schedule, presumably due to technical issues, changes of scope, etc etc. These planes are loaded with Classified protection and comms equipment.

It is not a full comparison to what the VC-25B's are. It is said the aircraft will likely only be used domestically as it cannot measure up to fly overseas with the same "protections". The aircraft was stripped down to a point supposedly to check for "bugs", put back together with addition of military grade communications and I believe the original palatial interior. Of course, the American taxpayer is on the hook for the additions and after a couple more years the plane is "donated" to Trump for his museum...
