Taxes, Accountant, Write-Offs - ??

Post by CorpPilot »

Good afternoon Brain Trust,

Another year of giving money to the govt and getting none back... Im deciding to put a little effort into this....

After years of having a very competent accountant, he has decided to retire a few years back (how dare he). I am in the Ancaster/Hamilton area and wondering if you know of any really good accountants that "get" aviation.

Also, what are you folks "writing off">??

Cheers,
CP

Are you an employee or self employed?

If you're an employee, the tax deductions don't change. Can't you look at what he did the previous years and just copy that? Personal tax returns are not very complex, you should be able to figure it out.

I've been doing my own taxes for years and this time paid an accountant. I wanted to see if I was making any errors...He filed it the exact same as I would have but I'm a bit poorer for the experience.
