Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) - KINGSTON FLYING CLUB (CYGK)

The Kingston Flying Club is seeking a Class 1 or 2 Flight Instructor, to fill the role of Chief Flight Instructor (CFI). Class 3 Instructors within three (3) recommends of a Class 2 will be considered. This is a full-time year-round position beginning immediately. The operation currently flies C172 and PA30 Twin Comanche aircrafts.



We are looking for an individual passionate about aviation and flight instruction. The candidate will prioritize safety, while delivering a professional and quality flight instruction experience. This is the perfect position for a person wanting to commit to a position, grow their career, or call Kingston their long-term home.



Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for the overall running of the flight training unit. This includes, but not limited to:

RPP, PPL & CPL ground and flight instruction

Ground school instruction

All necessary instruction for ratings such as night, VFR OTT, Multi-Engine, Instrument Ratings, and Instructor ratings

Supervision of other Flight Instructors

Ensuring proper flight dispatch of lessons and charter flights

Working with KFC staff to coordinate aircraft maintenance including flying to any necessary maintenance facilities

Verification of maintenance items in partnership with the PRM

Maintaining proper student records

Occasional operation of a charter or sightseeing tour

Maintaining aircraft logbooks

Communicating with Transport Canada on all relevant club matters

Any additional tasks assigned by a director

Legally entitled to work in Canada

A valid Transport Canada Class 1,2, or 3 Instructor Rating

Class 3 candidates must be within 3 recommends from Class 2 status for consideration

Valid Transport Canada Group 1 IFR

Transport Canada Commercial Pilot License

Class 1 Medical

A clean record/no violations

Valid Driver’s License
