Flair OR Baulk...
Hey guys
So, this is how I feel right now.
This hiring for October seems like a great opportunity to have the base I want, YVR, and a 737.
I would like to know how it is like to work for Flair as a First Officer.
How is the schedule, days off, vacation, pay, upgrade prospects, and seniority? Anything you can tell me to have an idea of how it will be for the next 3 years at least working there.
or should I stick to the turboprop and work on getting a captain upgrade?

So is it better to become a kingair captain first?Eh380 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2026 5:38 pmTurboprop upgrade is super helpful for the future imoE2M wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2026 2:22 am Hey guys

Upgrade on the King Air and get an ATPL before moving to a jet job.
PIC experience is very valuable.

Agreed. Command time will be massive when you actually want to upgrade at a 705. A lot of problems that arise on upgrade courses are the ability to make good decisions. Something you’ll have with command time from previous experience. A two year sacrifice will easily make the transition to the left seat at a 705 much easier when it comes time.

From what I've heard, most FOs are happy with the 737 experience, but schedules and days off can vary depending on the base and seniority. Upgrade timelines aren't guaranteed and depend on company growth, so I wouldn't count on a specific timeframe. If YVR is your preferred base and you can get it, I'd say Flair is a solid option for building jet time.

Ya I would 100 percent stay and upgrade to captain. My colleagues that upgraded on a turbo prop said it opened way more doors down the road. I think recruiters like PIC time and the responsibility and decision making experience that comes with it over any Jet FO time.beingcanadian wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2026 10:34 pmSo is it better to become a kingair captain first?Eh380 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2026 5:38 pmTurboprop upgrade is super helpful for the future imoE2M wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2026 2:22 am Hey guys
