C172 Flips Over on takeoff on a Paved Runway

Saw a couple of damaged aircraft at the airport just today when I went for a visit. Both strange incidents. Here is another one....

C-GJYO, a privately registered Cessna 172I, was departing Quesnel Airport (CYQZ), BC, for a recreational flight, under visual flight rules, to Vanderhoof Aerodrome (CAU4), BC. During the takeoff roll, the aircraft had difficulty becoming airborne. At approximately 2000 feet down the runway, the aircraft porpoised, pitched forward, and overturned. The aircraft came to rest inverted. After being trapped for a short period of time both occupants were able to exit the aircraft. Emergency services attended the scene and determined that the occupants had no significant injuries. The aircraft was substantially damaged. It was determined that the aircraft’s right main landing gear tire was deflated. That caused the wheel rim and the brake caliper to drag along the runway during the takeoff roll preventing the aircraft from reaching the required takeoff speed.
