Peace Air PA-31 Off Runway
Does anyone know the details of the chieftain off the runway in Trout Lake (EU9)?

Very relieved to hear nobody is hurt.
So any ideas what Peace Air should spend the insurance money on?
Here is my contribution to the list:
1) GPS receivers for their Jetstream's so that the crews can return their $900 hand held units that they've all bought with their own money.
2) One time payment on their credit card debt so crews can finally put away their personal credit cards when they need fuel.

No amount of insurance money can "fix" peaceair as long as the present ops manager is there.

Wow. Other dodgy operators run crews with handheld GPS too? I thought it was only SkyNorth and that skid row KA they have. Shame to be the guys that felt the need the buy GPS when they could have made a point to management and file traditional air routes costing the company more in fuel than certified units. If managers pinch on basic avionics they most likely pinch on maintenance as well.

Everything comes in threes....
So does anyone know if it was AEN? Peace was my first job. Long before they did skeds or had J31's it was Saturday that I would lay on my back hungover, one eyed napping, and pretending to clean the belly of AEN. When it finally went in my log book, I thought I really hit the big times.

Maybe I should send a link to all of your postings that you have done in the past including this subject.
I know who you are and maybe your ops manager would REALLY like to know what kind of employee they have.
If you don't have anything intelligent to say, then keep it to yourself.

Trust me. the ops manager or owner or chief pilot are not going to disipline or fire someone for comments on avcanada.. sounds like a typical peace air bit to me.. they would..
Glad everyone was ok on the navajo slip.

Nobody is pointing any fingers concerning the mishap. All that matters, really, is that everyone is ok. The fact that this was a Peace Air Navajo has no bearing what so ever on what happened. It likely would have happend to anyone trying to get into Trout Lake in a Navajo with the current conditions. Even if it was Benz. If it was, I am glad that you're ok and that you were able to go home to your family.
Riverman, I don't think anyone on this thread is speculating or pointing fingers at the cause of the accident. If that were the case, I would agree with you totally.

Anyway back to topic, news friggin travels fast, ran into some NT pilots in YVR this morning I havent seen in a while and they were asking what I knew about the Incident,I just said I only heard the basics but it sounded like everyone was ok...Now a little off topic ''rumor'' is NCA is looking at the CRJ's down in YYC as possible investments, anyone here this also.

Is that the real rsc?snow, ice........winter!
Seriously just curious as to what the conditions are/were considering this winter hasn't been all that harsh in alot of the NWT. Given the location of EU9 I could see them having more early snow, or they could still have warm temps.
So is "snow, ice......winter" an accurate description for conditions then?

CBC News
One person suffered only slight injuries when a plane overshot the runway and crashed in Trout Lake, N.W.T., on Monday, officials say.
Two pilots and three passengers were aboard the Piper Navajo when it went past the runway and ended up in a ditch 150 metres away, says John Cottreau, spokesman for the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
Trout Lake, N.W.T.
The plane, which belongs to Alberta-based Peace Air, was substantially damaged in the crash, Cottreau said.
The board has reviewed the accident and has no plans to investigate it further, he said.
Trout Lake is 430 kilometres southwest of Yellowknife.
