I was just wondering what the accepted industry standard was for earning a PPC. I understand there are a few methods, such as "buying" it, or gaining it through your employer / potential employer. If anybody could provide input or additional methods for this, it would be much appreciated.

Nobody is going to rise to the bait. Practice "catch and release".

No one earns a PPC.

You buy it any way you look at it....

Whether you go to Regency and pay 8k for a ho rating and start flying or you work the dock for a year, you'll end up paying for that with blood and sweat.

Or you can buy an instructor rating, work for minimum wage, whine about it, train some pilots(read "build time") and skip the que and get a PPC from your new employer....

As far as skill level goes, a PPC means NOTHING!!!

Thank you for the feedback!! I would much rather save some cash and get some real experience in the field... It's how I earned my first job as well, washing A/C, etc.. I landed an instructor / air taxi job that way. I suppose my question was to find out if a PPC would help to continue moving along. Anyways, time to keep networking.. thanks!!

I have found other sources of info since posting as well, and this seems to be the general consensus. The simple answer is appreciated and I look forward to finding my next employer. A friend of mine earned a right seat with Peace Air in the Jetstream with the "blood and sweat" method and 250 hours, I look forward to the challenge! Thanks again!
