I have no experience with this school but my advice would be against doing your ab initio training at CYUL since you will have to travel around quite a bit to get your circuit work and upper air work done.

I suggest that you post the same question in the French Language Forum.

I did my training from a Recreational to a PPL at Dorval Aviation three years ago and my experience there was very positive.
They have good 172s and as far as i could see maintenance was always properly done. My instructor took very good care of me and other staff, as well as the starlink people in the same building were always very nice.

The only problem with doing your ab-initio at Dorval is what frac already said. As soon as you get to flying solo, you`ll have to fly to St-Hubert CYHU to drop off your instructor and then go solo from there as youre not allowed to solo without a PPL at CYUL. That`s gonna take a pretty good bite out of your wallet considering you have to pay dual rate to CYHU and pay landing fees there everytime you wanna fly solo.

Other than that flying out of CYUL is a lot of fun and will keep the enthusiasm up high, and will give u a good understanding of controlled airspace.

Feel free to PM me with any other questions, altho its been a while im sure the place hasnt changed too much.
