You have to somewhat feel sorry for the average US soldier in Iraq and coming soon Iran. Every last one of those drivers they hit, and probably more than a few they missed; now hates American soldiers, not to mention the couple of guys walking down the boulevard that almost got flattened. All because a mental midget sent them to a place they shouldn't be stuck in, over a lie. All the poor buggers want to do is get out of there alive and get home to their families.

Maybe something to do with invading countries where they have no business being!! Then they drive down the street bumping into cars so they get out of the way and then go into the other lane and drive against the traffic!! I wonder why they are not liked???????

Actually it's not the American soldiers the world hates. It's the asshole that sent them there. Pretty sad to think he is the best person they could find to be Commander In Chief.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here.

These are American GI's sent to a place they would rather not be. It is entirely possible they were on their way to some type of operation where their presence was needed immediately, and not just joy riding around town. I'm sure I heard their horn sounding continuously throughout.

At the very least they are a highly visible target in a hostile area where it is impossible to tell friend from foe. Would you want to be a sitting duck stuck in traffic?

The Americans are rich, powerful, and successful. This really bothers a lot of people who are clearly not, and who feel quite badly about their failures in life.

We can see this on a micro scale: who likes Bill Gates? Martha Stewart?

Neither of them were spoiled rich brats, afaik ... they are both self-made millionaires, and they are bitterly envied and outrighted hated by people who as a result feel bad about themselves.

If I was over their I would be driving the same way. All it takes is to slow down enough and one of those bastards walking by has enough time to stick an IED on the side of the vehicle and you are gone.

You can see the point in this video when you think about it. They are always in danger of being ambushed or hit with an IED or a VBIED. If they were to get stopped it ofcourse makes a much better target for anyone. That is why they are trying so hard to keep moving. You can hear them blaring the horn like mad the whole time, trying to get people attention so that they will move out of the way. Some of the other drivers do, most do not and get a love tap to let them know what the situation is. Next time they will move. I wish I could do this when two people are driving beside each other on the highway.

This is the result of a VBIED that almost got too close in that situation. With quick commentary from the soldier about his arm being on fire etc..

What I dont understand is this video, which pretty much shows what Nark was talking about. Running people off the road into the ditch at speed, and then celebrating it. But who knows what the real story was.

Bumping those cars would barely skuff the paint.

looked like the residents seemed to know what to do when they did get bumped.

I didn't see any blood?

If it were our boys doing this there wouldnt be a word. The only reason you dont like it is because they are Americans.

Instead, they traipse around the world blow-harding about how great their country is. And it is a great place, filled with really great people, but no-one likes sucess that is rubbbed in their face.

On to the topic of the video: I can't blame those guys for driving like that - they are in a dangerous place with someone waiting for an opportunity to take a potshot at them around any corner. I'm sure that for any of us, self-preservation would trump social niceties..

I'm talking from personal experience. I've been on a number of convoys in a number of different places.

I can tell you from first hand experience that with the threat of being blown up, I don’t give two shits whether I offend the other driver in my way. And I care even less about whether people back in Canada think I’m an asshole for scratching their paint or running them off the road.

If you don't want to do this don't join up.........Just because Bush is an ass and he sent them there for reason, it doesn't give the soldiers the right to act like morons. They should act professionaly whether your gonna get shot or not. Duh, you're in the military so shit you might get killed.....
