Can anyone give me some info on the Commanders that they operate?

Also some useful info on pros and cons of the company and Elliot Lake.

Much appreciated.

Great company. I have been here about a year enjoying it lots. Thunder Bay base. Lots of on call but compensated well for your efforts. Top notch maintenance. Commanders are glorified navajos however are better kept than most ho's I have flown. To chose between commander and pc 12 though, it's the 12 every time. But then again I have lots of twin time. Good luck pm if you want more specific.

Like many aircraft manufacturers, Aero Commander (and its many variants) found it in their interest to produce both multi-engine and single engine aircraft.

Neat stuff.

Here is a nifty resource, when in doubt:

Elliot Lake is a great base. Great company morale!

I heard 5 of the 6 pilots there just quit in the last week!

solid company checks never bounce

pay IS better than average you are expected to give 110% but well paid for it

if you need routine a schedule this is NOT THE COMPANY

IF YOU LOVE the variety of northern reserve one day
and toronto the next this is the best chance to do that.

one other thing the 12 is a great bird to do medivac big door
and short 737 ng or embraier 190 where else are you going to get fl250
in cruise sipn coffee monitoring the efis doing 260+k grd speed and still be home every night ?

I enjoyed the time there good folks 8)

Sorry, I can't answer specific questions about the company myself. However, I do know several guys who have gone there, and all have had good things to say. They fly lots and get paid above industry standard. I'd say go for it!
Good luck!

Hi All
Just wanted to comment on the area of Elliot Lake, Lived here for 3 years and it is a beautiful area. No traffic jams, friendly enough community, and good fishing, snowmobiling. Can't comment on the company cause I dont work for them but they have been around a while and just build a new hanger at the airport and certainly have seen the airport a bit busier since moving here.
Go For it!!!

I heard 10 guys from yqt have left in the last 5 months to fly PC12's elsewhere, 1 more to ggn, and one to the bear. Is it skips or f/o's who r pullin out? Did they really lose 6 guys from yel?...i thought there were only 6 guys there. Anyone know what the deal is? anyone know what the bond is? how good is the above avg pay?

Can't comment on YEL, but mostly f/o's leaving yqt. Most are just trying to get closer to home and have taken pay cuts to do it. A couple of skippers have moved on for aircraft type and one for a predictable sched. Everyone up here is hemorraging pilot up here. Was talking to NAC friend they are same boat.
