Just curious what the current pay is for a MIFR instructor at Perimeter.

Looking to compare what it's like across the country. I know some of the gta schools seem to have us all beat.

Perimeter Pay was per the association pay scale, anywhere from $11.00 a Hour flying and up, Sims were little less, you do a lot of sims with your students, and ofcourse the flying is the usual for a MIFR. It's a good pay for Winnipeg as the cost of living is lower. Good Luck

$11 per flight hour for a MIFR instructor? That's just wrong. I don't even know of any class 4 instructors on C150s that make less than $15 per hour. That's a rip off.

Don't worry, I'm not applying.

I think that's 1/3 of what most MIFR instructors make. And less than $11/hr in the sim, what does tim hortons pay again? That's just wrong.

I can understand it's hard at some schools to break into the MIFR, and that could be the appeal, but the pay is wrong. With things the way they are pay like that won't keep anyone around.

The rest of the world seems to have caught on that a good paycheck helps keep good staff. I have a student from England, and his MIFR instructor there makes 55pounds/hour! The best school I've heard of in this country pays around 37/hr for a class 2 doing MIFR. (And that's not a career-college job).

Most students recognize quality instruction and shouldn't have a problem paying for it. I know plenty of great teachers who work for crappy wages, but the level of teaching will always go down if someone can't live off of their job.

WOW I knew they didn't get great pay but I thought they made WAY WAY more then that....the lowest class 4 pay that I know of is 16.75 & thats for a realy bad employer (from what I hear) How do they get instructors when they are asking for Class 3 min 1,000 hours & a HUGE pay cut?

They get a salary as well as an hourly pay. 13$/ hr for the sim and 15$/hr in the plane. For MIFR time, me thinks its better than a ground job.
