The Conservatives and Greens have been making significant gains in the polls. Just curious where this board stands these days

Where is the Bloq ???
or is that the same as i do not vote ???

I know a few Red Necks and Hillbillies in Alberta who would love the Bloq to win .Save them a lot of tax money not having to subsidize a lifestyle that they do not agree with.IN fact the bloq would probably get a large vote if they ran in Alberta.

During the last referendum that sentiment was much more broadly held than just Red Neck and Hillbillies. CKNW talk show hosts had plenty to talk about back then.

I will vote Liberal when hell freezes over.....and with this global warming that doesn't seem likely. I lost what little respect I had for them when they pulled this little stunt to ram Kyoto through. For 12 years they do nothing and then when the Conservatives get in power they try to force it on them. Then know full well what it will do to the economy so they want the Conservatives to take the blame when the economy tanks. Pretty pathetic manuevering. They have sunk to a new low if you ask me.

I doubt it. But isn't that the point? The bloq shouldn't even exist if its a political party for one province, and even if I wanted to (which good God, I do not!!) I can't vote for a political party that for some reason takes part in televised debates. People studying Canadian politics in schools in other countries must laugh at us. And so they should.

If the bloq made a commitment that if they were elcted they WOULD seperate I think they'd get plenty of Western votes. Yes it'd be a pain in the butt to reprint a bunch of our charts but worse things could happen. We could keep being manipulated by an empty threat indefinately...

Before you wish for that... think of the billions.. and billions... of dollars that PQ would take in order to separate. Guess where those dollars will come from?

I could be very wrong but that's what I see happening - it would be like land claims alllllllll over again, even though we have many of them settled here the bands are STILL squalling (oh... we didn't know THAT! Let's hold everything else up while we stall for time).

Interesting thought, though.. from a redneck Albertan

Well this poll wouldn't be fair. Majority of the people pn this forum are West Coasters. Something I've come to realize.

There is nothing unfair about it. I'm wondering about the political ideologies of the people on this board. therefore it is a fair poll for this board.

I'm not saying that anybody wants our country cut in two. I'm saying that they'd never go through with it and it's frustrating to have the government handcuffed by a completely empty threat. If just once when the bloq implied "Give us XXX or we seperate" the gov't had the balls to say go ahead, I believe that Quebec would quit being the bully on the playground for a while (and not seperate). I just want everybody to play nice because I'm a hippy not a red-neck.
