Jazz mar 19 class
Hello.
12 people in the class.
Positions are:
YYZ 5 RJ
YUL 3 DASH
YYC 1 DASH
YVR 3 DASH
Rumours of 12 RJ YYZ only next class.
Hey jazz guys, how likely is a person getting YYZ RJ likely to get back to YYC soon?
Thanks.

So if I grab RJ tomorrow on the bid, I should be confident of getting back to YC and I should allow myself to bid equipment over location?
All the YYC dash guys want RJ of course. Why would I get back to YC so fast when other more senior guys can bid the aircraft over me and get it when a position gets available?
CZEG.

Not all of the YYC dash guys want RJ of course. The RJ is not the answer for everyone. For example, I'm YYZ Dash 8 FO, I get all the days off I want, get to pick my overnights and the pay is the same. Everybody has a different agenda, and to trying to predict what everyone wants is pretty much impossible. Do what is right for you, and roll the dice...
They've told you during the initial groundschool to "Bid what you want", and they ain't kidding......
If the music stops tomorrow and you're on reserve in YYZ, will you be okay with that? Or would you be happier out west flying a different piece of equipment? Only you can answer these questions.
Congrats and good luck tomorrow.

This is aviation, you shouldn't be confident of anything except your abilities to do the job.czeg wrote:So if I grab RJ tomorrow on the bid, I should be confident of getting back to YC and I should allow myself to bid equipment over location?

However with the amount of movement these days your chances are probably pretty good of getting what you want before too long. Good point of having your standing bid in, they just recently awarded some positions that were open to fill the base line levels that were required outside of an actual position bid.
Good luck and have fun.
