Just wanted to touch base with anyone else waiting for the call or letter. Danger zone starts in 2 weeks or so and then I'll be sweating everytime I check the mail. Maybe it would be funny to get a hold of some AC envelopes and send them out to some buddies with "Gotcha!" inside.
What's the earliest you know of anyone hearing back?
How are people hearing yes or no? Are both PFO's and offers with course dates coming via regular mail or is the PFO via regular mail and the offer/course date an email and/or phone call?
Just a phone call. Never really had time to be nervous about picking up the mail. What is up with the 6 month waiting period? It just doesn't make sense when they have openings for the April 23rd company indoc.
3 months now for me and still waiting for news, a friend of mine got his call at the end of february and still waiting for a G/S date. How knows how it's working ?
The long wait is perhaps owing to the fact that they are cherry picking. I think the "pool" is akin to the uncertainty pile: If you got your PFO in short order it is likely because they definately are not interested in hiring you... on the other hand if you are sitting around and waiting it is because perhaps the "review board" has not assessed your file yet and given you either a pass or fail. Those who get responses in the affirmative, and in short order, likely did very well in all aspects of the assessment.
Keep in mind that even if the hiring board decides you are going to be hired, you are put into a pool. If you are ranked in the lower end of the pool it could take months before you work yourself high enough to get the call. You can also work the other way and get pushed out of the pool by candidates that performed better than you during the process.
It sucks having to wait, but there is nothing that you can do to make the system any different.

Hey _ _
Nice to see the "family elephant" as your avatar!
I had my current employer called two weeks after the interview. It took five weeks after that to get the call. I would say if they are checking your references your looking good! Good luck man!!!
References called 2 weeks + a day after interview, got the call 2 weeks less a day after references called! Total from interview to call = 4 weeks minus a day...
"I would say if they are checking your references your looking good! Good luck man!!!"
I hope so!!!
I just found out mine were called...can any one else shed any light on this.....or their expert avcanada opinion? If they are taking the time to check...does that mean I'm hired...pending of course a bad reference? Or are there still decisions to be made....
Or am I asking questions no one really knows the answer to and have to just sit back and enjoy the waiting game.....
