I know this is the land of the great white north and you guys are fiercely proud of that, but just curious how many NZers are out there flying (or trying too) and if so, what sort of hours and machines are you on?
example- I've seen TUI out there but wondering who else is around, it would be interesting to compare the scene in Canada to NZ.

Did my first flight in a small airplane (an Oster? Auster? sp.) in NZ - up onto the Tasman Glacier - it got me hooked on flying right then. Started flying lessons a week after I got back, still flying 30 years later (yes, I did eventually get a licence during that time).
Very scenic aerial views, you can see mountains, snow, beaches, forests, cities, and the ocean all at once. You could probably never get lost on a cross country.
