Picture of my "new" Cadillac!

Post by . ._ »

Here she is. I just drove her from the Soo to Sudbury today. It's like a leather couch on wheels. Still needs just a bit of work, though.

I also did the math, and got 11 mpg all the way! OOOOH YA! Take your SUV and shove it!

Nice whitewalls, grandpa  :P

Edit: looking at the badge on the front fender, that is not one of the dreaded 8-4-6 engines is it?

http://www.autosafety.org/article.php?did=1091&scid=77

The V-8-6-4 - GM's first attempt at cylinder deactivation - did make a statement, but not the kind that Cadillac wanted. The engine bucked and jerked. The transition of the cylinders turning off and on was so rough and unreliable that it angered many Cadillac owners.

Yes, it does have the V8-6-4!

I'm looking forward to dinking around with this beast as long as I own it.

It makes absolutely NO sense for me to have this car.

Hence, it is mine. Practicality is overrated.

And instead of these:

Too bad it has the 4-6-8.. mine was a black 79 coupe de ville, the last year they ran the 425, and even that would get 18 on the highway.. 12'ish in town depending how hard you stomped on the gas.

Still, you get two great big leather couches for far less than what you'ld pay in a furniture store.

1) Being all over other people's asses is not my thing, but to each his own.

2) I am happy I made an impression on you, to a point where you've mentioned me in unrelated posts a couple of times, but I'd appreciate it if you'd let me decide when and where I decide to make an intervention.

3) ISTP, where's the golden hood ornament (caddilac crest)??? I don't seem to see it in the picture

Time For a New Bumper Sticker

"Dinosaurs; Good to the Last Drop"

Had an 86 Monte SS with this on it and you would not believe how many tree hugging hippies will fly you the bird after reading that one.

Actually, I'll be putting a Green Party bumper sticker on it to cover a rust hole in the bumper.

It will be interesting to see if anyone comments on that!

Oh sweet, sweet irony, how I love thee.

Great car istp!

Speaking of cars, has anyone ever gotten out of an auto lease? Will they come after you for the remainder of the lease if you give back the vehicle and stop paying?

My dad had a 69 Caddy Fleetwood. It had the monstorous 500 cubic inch
engine. I believe it got 8 light poles to the gallon. For a 2 ton car it would run great. Tha was the only thing I wanted from my parents - but they gave it away while I was living overseas. DAMM

I eventually had a 73 LTD police car - it had a 460 V8. I'd take it to the drag strip in STL on amatuer night and could blow away almost everyone

Good Luck with the car ISTP. My friend had one and it leaked oil faster than it used gas

Friend of mine used this. Apparently it's pretty good.

She's a beauty istp. A true classic.

I used to have a 74 bmw 2002.. which came standard with rust and a top speed of exactly 100mph (confirmed numerous times) while getting about 22mpg out of the 110hp 4cyl. .. sure enough, everyone around knew who I was because of the damned thing.. and it probably leaked/burned more oil than gas!

Keep it real

Istp,

Keep us updated on any mods. Here's a recommendation. You'll be livin large with the ladies. You might need to borrow an airstair from work though.
