A Post about nothing

Just a thought I had today while flying a C310. I thought about my grandfather who used a hoarse and cart, my father who started on a bike and finished in a Chevy 2 and here I was doing 190 mph in a small twin. The weather was down and I couldn't wipe the smile from My face.

The money is poor the people are crazy but the flying makes it all worth while.

After all the bad lets not forget the good.

And just to think, only a century and a half ago a guy with his hand up a horse's arse would have been considered a mechanic doing a hot section.

I've thought about similar things ....
I have read books on history of the places in Canada's north that I flown over.
Been to Beechy Island where the Franklin party camped out for a couple winters in the arctic.
Tracked down the Methy portage from La Loche to the Clearwater river. I flew over it in a matter of minutes .... they busted a hump for a week to haul the cargo down it.
Amazing what we do so effortlessly today what the fur industry folks did in the past.
Humbling to say the least. No wonder my gut hangs out further very year. We have it soft.
