Whats a good book to read before you go up in the air for your first flight? Is from the ground up, any good?

From the Ground Up is one of the best books out there. . . no wonder it has been around for so many years. It concentrates on theory and groundschool subjects though. The Flight Training Handbook talks more about the stick and rudder aspects, and what you can expect. I think that it would be a more worthwhile read, but definately get the From the Ground Up at some point.

I found that From The Ground Up was the best book to read for flight exercises. :D

Find a brochure on E.I. benefits. A good read that will have practcal applications later on in your career.

Besides "From the Ground Up", I think the best book to read before your first flight would have to be "Stick and Rudder". This book is really old but no other book describes HOW to fly nearly as well as this classic.
I can't remember the author's name but I'm sure Google can help you out there.

P.S. Enjoy your flight!

I think if I were to recommend one book for somebody starting out, "From the Ground up" would be the one.

Ditto, From the ground up is one of the better books out on the market. It's easy to read and has a ton of information.

Good luck :D
