This was what happened after TC broke my spirit and I started down the road to failure.
Cat, you want to meet, you do the leg work. As for whining, most of your complaints about TC are just that. But hey, why should you try and beat them? It's obvious that they broke your spirit so no one can blame you for coming on here and ranting. Its all you have left.
Just wanted you to know what my road to failure looks like.

For the rest who read this stuff...I'm just bored and need some entertainment.

Yeh, Clunk we were truly fortunate to have flown in a far different era.

When kids could go to airports without fences and gawlk at airplanes and even go into the cockpit and the pilots would let them see the world out the front end.

What has happened to humanity in the last thrity or so years, we are now swiftly returning to the cave man era.

I'll be dropping by in the fall if I don't kill myself in my sail boat this summer.

Awesome pics Cat. I don't know why you think you failed, you've had and continue to have a wonderful career many of us only dream about. Don't fight the system, while "they" were doing paperwork in a cubicle, you've seen the world... that's something nobody can take away from you.

If you knew me you wouldn't worry about my losing any sleep over what happened between me and TC.

It was a simple case of my refusing to be treated like crap by one of their inspectors and it just racheted up the chain of command like I knew it would and I was sucessful in getting them by the balls right up to the top.

I knew from the first moment I started where it would go and the price was worth it.

I have led a life that I could never ever have dreamed of when I was young and first starting and now when I want to quit I still get seduced into doing more.

In just the past two days another client has finally talked me into working for him to find a new toy, what seduced me is he is in the GPS position following business in silicon valley and I sure would like to get to know those people.

As an aside yesterday we discussed my rates and he was amazed that I work so cheap. Hell I was worried he wouldn't pay my rates. But I saved some of my dignity by telling him I only work for cash.

Being a fu.kin pilot has really been detrimental to understanding how the world of big money works...but I'm learning and intend to make a few more dollars before I finally get to fu.kin old to remember how to rebuild and fly airplanes.

Don't read to much into what I sometimes post here because sometimes I'm only using some of these guys as internet Pinata's. :smilebig:

If you want to see my airport without fences Cat, you should come by. But sadly the kids no longer want to see the airplanes, they shoot at them with their pellet guns, they don't ask for rides, they steal the runway lights. Its hardly any wonder, their parents don't tell them about the wonders of airplanes or even stop them, they only come to complain about the noise and property values. The fences will be coming soon, and its just a sign of the times.

Shiny side when I was 12 years old I skipped school quite often to go to the airport in Windsor Ont where I grew up.

One day I was standing near the apron where an American Airlines DC3 was parked and the pilots saw me gawking.

The Captain walked over and said hey kid wanna look in the airplane?

He took me into the cockpit and showed me all the magic things inside that DC3.

To this day the picture is sharp in my memory of the Big DC3 with American Airlines Flagship painted on the nose gleaming in the sun.

The year was 1947 and the world has sure changed since then a lot todays kids do not have to dream because everything is given to them and there are no wonderful goals to accomplish for far to many of them.

Don't read to much into what I sometimes post here because sometimes I'm only using some of these guys as internet Pinata's.
:lol: Oh, so that is what it was all about; Sometimes I had to wonder.

Love the pics. Did some (web) searching and love the stories. A career to envy. If you ever need a co-joe - pick me! I'd love to be able to do that kind of flying before the sunsets entirely on it...and I'm still willing and able to learn.

Busha8tr I'm pleased you would like to fly with me....and I often wonder when my sun will set.

I was sure I would be satisfied not flying for hire anymore when I decided to retire exactly a year ago but seems like I will be gradually easing back into it because like a true whore I can't resist offers of good money.

Its really weird I'm supposed to be old but I don't feel any different now than I ever did, hell I can still take high G's in aerobatic flying and it does not affect my situational awareness anymore now than when I was really young.

So what the fu.k as long as I'm healthy I might as well keep active.

thx for the picts cat driver, keep them coming, you'r selling dream. Sorry I can't give you the big bucks for that, but it does help to keep the magic. yeah seems like you have had an amazing and priviledged time up to today. I'm hoping my life will be as intense, gotta love this cat flying.

Interesting....mcrit hasn't even posted.....jealousy maybe....probably.

Cat, is it possible that TC did you a big favour? Like - what experiences you have now compared to what you may not have had if TC had not gone ape$hit over you.....

The pics are wonderful....hopefully some day I can visit those countries, in the meantime, I just dream about them. I also offer my services as FO - once I get my commercial 8)

Cat, is it possible that TC did you a big favour? Like - what experiences you have now compared to what you may not have had if TC had not gone ape$hit over you.....
Beyond any doubt kzcvtm TC did me a great favour in many ways, however I wish it had not cost me so much money for the favour.

As to mcrit I think it is quite evident that he/she has some deep rooted need to belittle others to feel good and just between you and me I don't for a heart beat believe that mcrit knew about much less teaches his/her students to use the carb heat to check for excessive lean. If he/she does why did I have to post what I was explaining before he/she came on like gangbusters about how basic it was and start into his/her knowlege of physics?

So true , the old days of sitting up front with the crew and marveling at the cockpit are over.... I feel sorry for the kids today that actually love airplanes and want to someday be pilots , i was fortunate to grow up in the 80's where i got to ride several times in the cockpit / dc-10 ( cp air ) 727 (worldways) 1011 tristar 757 and best of all dc-8-63 ( worldways ) which happened to be on my 13th birthday..... I also would like to add that kids today in general are not into these kind of things anymore , because they are too busy trying to be adults at age 6 , cell phone , x-box , and lots of TV ... I guess its almost like a new breed of humans coming up !!!

Cat I don't believe a word of it. What I think really happened is you used to skip school in Dayton Ohio and one day Orville Wright saw you and gave you a tour of the Wright Flyer. :wink: :smt003

Cat- Fantastic pictures, amazing stories and a career you know most of us envy. The TC issues has just made you stronger and more resilient. You're a great guy and I greatly appreciate the calls to cheer me up. Made my freakin day every time. I'm still waiting for my jaw to settle before I come visit.

I too am saddened to see the degradation of society and the industry. I guess I caught the tail end of the good times. I got lucky and spent many hours and trips sitting jumpseat in all kinds of great big airliners. Most of which still sported nothing but steam gauges. Looking through family photo albums.. I flew along in 727 100's and 200's, Greasy DC9's, L1011's, DC8 super 60's, 61's and I think a 63 (when they were the pride of the AC cargo fleet) 747-100's and 200's and eventually a 400 or two. Then things started to change.. and I got rides on 767's, A320/319/321's, 330's and 340's and even up front in the dash 8's and Bae146's back when Air BC flew em. I also remember walking around on the apron and ramp at a bunch of the local airports looking at airplanes and watching people do circuits. Hell.. got the same kind of offers to have a look inside some of the warbirds and neat stuff that was flying around.

I went back to show a good friends son who's 6 some of the same stuff only to find a big gate and security camera where once we just walked through.. So I snuck through the flight school with a quick flash of my licences and gave him a good tour. He loved it!

i used to skip school and read the private pilot manual in the library.. haha. when my dad found out, i was not allowed to touch the manual until i graduated high school. :D

I skiped math, lunch, and history most days in May and June. Take the street car to the island and fly a fleet or C150 for under 20.00 per nour dual.
