Does anyone know anything about Dynamic out of Calgary? How many pilots, how busy they are, future plans?

They seem to grow, then downsize as the market changes. North Cariboo really went after their business hard over the past couple of years. (successfuly) Now they seem to be mostly busy in crew change seeason. I personally like Cam Toews, but no idea what he's like to work for. Last I heard they were paying an "on call daily rate" (only get paid if you fly). No thanks, but you may like it. cj

I once spoke to the owner of the Charter company, and he told me several months ago that they were getting a learjet. not sure it thats coming in any time soon though. And a friend of mines who told me that he has a friend there said that because its a family run business that if you mess up with any one of the family, you get into some serious -

one question, what exactly is crew changes and what season is that?

Crew changes are the life blood of Navajo flying in AB. See these dumb greasy red neck hoologans (AKA rig pigs) they get to stand around with their thumbs up their asses on the rigs all day long, only work so many days in a row. Then just before they all loose their minds from cold isolation and way too much of eachother's company, they get flown home to start bar fights and spend money like a-holes for a few weeks. Meanwhile a whole bunch more of them (who have now spent a pilot's annual salary on booze and women in 7 days) get flown up to do the whole thing all over again.

For almost the same money and less work you can be a first aider for the rig pigs...If you're lucky you'll get on a good crew that know how to dress themselves and bathe occasionally.

People always ask me "did you like living in Calgary"?

To which I reply "No, I flew for Dynamic"

I couldnt afford to enjoy myself. Lowest paid flight crew per type west of anywhere [except co-jo's, because of some shitty company in another expensive city] And to top it all off your always stressed to the max because of this little pakistani guy who knows nothing about aviation but goes after contracts [subing you out] and tells you on a bi weekly basis that your gonna have to move to a different city. The only good thing was that I made such dismal cash that I was approved for a massive grant to convert to chopper. Now I'm waiting to go helo at a company paying me at least three times what I made at DFS and I'm flying a navajo. go figure.

you mentioned something about a lear. Anyone else know anything further about that? One of my first instructors I believe is there flying the Navajo.

I'd agree with treetops. From what I gather is that there only paying there Navajo Capt. $1500-2000/month. Oh yea, and if you don't have a PPC you don't have a job...cheap ass company...STAY AWAY...BOYCOT!

I now a feller that worked there last year. Like everyone is saying RUN RUN FAR AND FAST. I could see regency pilots going to work there, they like to work for free.

On Dynamic Flight Services:

Back in the day, a group of 3 and I were released from a dry camp after actioning a forest fire down by Pincher Creek. Dynamic was flying us back on a bit of a Milk Run in a PA31. We had finished some 34 days in the bush and were delighted to be heading home. Dynamic was kind enough to furnish us with a case of beer. Oh, sweet beer.

Though I love the Navajet, the lack of a Lav onboard can become a factor. And though I will always have a warm place in my heart for the FO who took the time to buy us beer, I wonder to this day what his reaction was when he noticed that all 12 beer were open, but still full, and slightly warm.

Deskdriver that cracks me up. I was flying some fisherman in a Chieftain one day on a long trip with beer in a cooler box. By the time we got there the empty beer cans were all in the back and the cooler box was full of...........................

well at least it was easy to clean up!!
